Platinum Jubilee Launch Party and the Beacon Lighting

The Jockey Club have announced details of the Platinum Jubilee Launch Party and the Beacon Lighting at Epsom Downs Racecourse on Bank Holiday Thursday 2nd June 6pm-9:30pm

Celebrations begin on Bank Holiday Thursday 2nd June when the racecourse will open its doors free of charge, for a ticketed event with live entertainment from the Parade Ring. There will be food and drink options available and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The programme includes some traditional family activities such as circus skills, roaming music and photo opportunities but racing will also be front and centre including an “In the Spotlight” panel and interviews with notable racing names, hosted by raceday presenter Anthony Kemp. The evening will be rounded off with a proms-style sing-a-long.

Also on the evening there will be a parade of hats made by local schoolchildren and the community inspired by The Queen and raceday style at The Derby to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. There is an opportunity for those based in Epsom to make their hats this Saturday, 14th May at 11am-3pm at Epsom Library thanks to Go Epsom. For More Details CLICK HERE
